AIGA Honolulu Chapter’s inaugural Design Week in Honolulu was an inspirational, weeklong event showcasing, advancing and celebrating the professional practice and value of design statewide.
An expansion of AIGA Honolulu Chapter’s annual programming, Design Week reached out to a diverse community of design professionals as well as local businesses, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, students and more. A warehouse in Our Kaka’ako was transformed into Design Week headquarters, where we held four of our events, including a first-ever showcase of all the roughly 200 entries to the 5-O design competition.
We believe that designers—and those who value design—can contribute immensely to and delightfully inspire a new Honolulu in which we live and work. Thanks to all those who participated in our venture to advance, inspire and celebrate.
