Design Week HNL

Design Week HNL is an inspirational weeklong event showcasing, advancing and celebrating the professional practice and value of design statewide. The event will spotlight Hawai‘i’s design community in Our Kaka‘ako for six days, culminating in an awards show onboard the historic Battleship Missouri.

MONDAY, 10/21 

Adobe Workshop: The Creative Cloud - $15 for members, $30 for non-members

Five local creatives in a series of Pecha Kucha-style presentations based on the theme of “Hawai‘i Design” followed by a Q+A panel discussion.

Studio Open House - Free

Design studios will open their doors for an opportunity to see their creative environments, learn about their work, get insider info on their design processes and network with their professional staff.

Hawaii Design Showcase - $15 for members, $30 for non-members

Get the first-ever sneak peek of all the entries for this year’s “Hawaii’s 5-O” Design Competition prior to the winners being announced at the award show.

THURSDAY, 10/24

Designer Dialogue with Joseph Duffy (Duffy & Partners, Minneapolis) - $15 for members, $30 for non-members

2013 “Hawaii’s 5-O” Design Competition Judge Joseph Duffy, of the award-winning Duffy & Partners in Minneapolis, will lead an inspirational presentation showcasing his work, lessons learned and some tricks of the trade.

“BYOBook” Mixer - Free

Pick a book from your shelf to use as a conversation starter among fellow design enthusiasts in a mixer event and participate in the Shutterstock Napkin Sketch Contest for a chance to win a prize package from Shutterstock valued at $350.

2013 "Hawaii’s 5-O" Design Award Show

Join the state’s design community and related professions in celebration of good design in Hawai‘i. This event is historically AIGA Honolulu Chapter’s biggest and longest-running design event. Tickets must be purchased by 10/11 to attend.
